Estelle Antoinette Hartman and Eugene “Gene” Francis Hartman have been reunited. Gene passed away March 2, 2014 and Estelle followed him on April 17, 2015. Both were born in Chicago, Gene on October 21, 1921 to Mary nee Osucha and Frank Hartman and Estelle on December 15, 1917 to Catherine nee Cioban and Albert Slonka. Gene graduated from Lane Technical High School in Chicago and served his country in the Army during WW II. They were married for 67 years exchanging vows at Holy Trinity Church on June 8, 1946 and were blessed with three children Sylvia (Edward) Rudek of Mt, Prospect, Cynthia Hartman of Seattle, WA and the late Gerald Hartman of Hawaii, a grandchild Eugene “Gene” (Brenda) Rudek of Carol Stream and a great grandchild Lance Rudek. Gene was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Loretta (John) Dzien. Estelle was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Joseph (Mary) Slonka, Helen (Walter) Fabis and Jean (Adam) Glowacki. They are survived by nieces and nephews James (Barbara) Slonka, Judy (Leonard) Petillo, Tim Slonka, Tom Slonka, Geraldine (Michael) Kobler, Audrie (Jack) Magmer and Adam (Terry) Glowacki Jr. In 1945, Gene was a co- owner of Hartman Metal Products, Chicago and during the 1950’s owned Hartman’s Northwoods Club, Eagle River, WI.
The services are for invited attendees only.
Estelle will be lying in State Friday 9:00 AM until Mass 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia Church, Golf Rd (Rt.58) at Meier Rd., Mt. Prospect.
